The Bayelsa State Governor Senator Douye Diri has asked his commissioners who collected the Eight billion naira Agricultural loan to start paying back the money as it was never for jamboree.
Governor Diri while speaking at the weekly State Executive Council meeting at the Council Chamber in Government House, Yenagoa provided new details about the 8 billion naira agricultural loan secured by his administration in 2023.
The Governor who emphasized the need for the state to focus its efforts on the agricultural sector instructed all state executive council members to account for the use of the agricultural loan provided by the state government.
Governor Diri, also expressed gratitude to Bayelsans for maintaining peace in the state despite economic challenges, expressing hope for a better Nigeria.
Our Correspondent reports, that there have been controversies surrounding the 8 billion naira agricultural loan, with claims and counterclaims between the State Government, opinion leaders, and civil society members having requested the government to publicly disclose details of the loan disbursement.
