Host nation of AFCON 2023, Ivory Coast have secured a 2-0 win in the first match of the tournament over the African wild dogs of Guinea Bissau on Saturday night at the Olympic Stadium Ebimpe in Abidjan.
Ivory Coast’s Seko Fofana and Jean-Philippe Krasso scored the two goals of the match that separated the two sides.
In the fourth minute, Fofana who plies his trade with Al-Nassr FC in Saudi Arabia opened the AFCON 2023 scoring chart.
Fofana, 28, also failed to score a brace in the tournament after hitting the woodwork in the 35th minute.
