Ugochi Mitchel Ihezue: Interesting Facts About Miss Universe Nigeria 2023

Five facts have been revealed about the Miss Universe Nigeria 2023, Ugochi Mitchel Ihezue, after she emerged winner of the pageant at the on Sunday September 10, at Convention Centre of Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The current winner of the pageant, an indigene of Imo State, Nigeria is the former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) 2017, queen. She was crowned MBGN queen after contesting the same year alongside 36 other delegates.

It might interest you to also know that she has has recently obtained her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the prestigious Lagos Business School.

Ihezue also has the zeal to create a future of endless possibilities with a focus on advocating for women to thrive outside of societal boxes, break free from societal norms and forge their own paths to success. Her ultimate goal is to inspire women across Nigeria to recognise their innate potential and embrace their dreams without fear of societal constraints.

During her unveiling as part of the contestants of the Miss Universe Nigeria 2023, she said, “I have driven an advocacy towards seeing women exist and thrive,” “I was 21 years old with a dream and a wonderful opportunity but without the necessary resources, preparation and knowledge.”

Ihezue, 26, has also achieved the feat of becoming the first winner of Miss Universe Nigeria after competing with 36 other delegates in the 2023 edition.

Interestingly, Ihezue who’s aim is to better advocate for gender equality believes that physical beauty alone should not define a woman’s worth.

During her crowning at the recent Miss Universe ceremony, Miss Nasarawa earned the Miss Photogenic award, Miss Taraba dazzled in the Best Traditional Costume category, and Miss Borno claimed the Miss Amity award.

The beauty queen is ready to represent her country on the global stage at the Miss Universe 2023 competition scheduled to take place in El Salvador on November 18, 2023.
