The 16th Headies Award has been held On Sunday, September 3, 2023, in Atlanta Georgia USA, for the second consecutive year.
The award has now achieved the feat of becoming the biggest prize in Nigerian music, since its inception in 2006.
On the highlights of the prestigious entertainment event was Rema emerging as the biggest winner, going home with three gongs. He also crowned his efforts with Nigerian music renaissance speech.
Rave of the moment in contemporary Nigerian music Asake went home with two gongs including the coveted Next Rated Award, while Burna Boy picked up the Afrobeat Single of the Year and the Best R&B Song.
