Elon Musk: X To Auction Off Old Twitter Items

The Chief Executive Officer of Tesla Motors, Elon Musk has revealed that he is ready to auction off old Twitter items, from desk chairs to painting of Ellen DeGeneres’ Oscar Selfie.

This auction which involves the sale of a giant garage comes after Twitter officially rebranded as X to purge the company’s HQ of remnants of the past.

Other items that have been put up for sale are: the standard desk chair, large bird cage welded with a Twitter logo bird and everything in between, CNN reports.

The X owner who bought Twitter less than a year ago, Musk has embarked on a journey of change for the social media company, making it look different.

Apart from the change of logo and sales of items, the 52-year-old business magnate has laid off most of the company’s employees, instituted a paywall and eliminated most account authentication since he bought Twitter.

Sources revealed that Interested buyers can browse through numerous “#” and “@”statues, paintings of Ellen DeGeneres’ viral 2014 Oscar selfie and Barack Obama celebrating his re-election, a reconstructed barn from Montana and numerous musical instruments.

Twitter is also looking to get rid of office equipment including desks, chairs and refrigerators as the auction, run by Heritage Global Partners (HGP), opens September 12 and runs for two days in San Francisco.

The viewing for the auction is available by appointment only, with all 584 items opening with a bid of 25 dollars.
