Napoli football star, Victor Osimhen is currently being eyed by Spanish football giant, Real Madrid as a potential replacement for Karim Benzema who has left the club.
The current European champions are also monitoring the talent Nigerian as they plan for the future of the club. Part of the plan is seeing Osimhen as a potential replacement for the Frenchman.
In reaction to the development, Real Madrid have not ruled out a future move for Osimhen, the Spanish news outlet, Fichajes reports.
Interestingly, Osimhen’s impressive performance this season, is the major reason the the prolific striker has been linked with a potential move to several top European clubs, like: Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
Another major feat the 24-year-old has achieved is playing a major role in Napoli clinching the Scudetto after over three decades.
Considering the advantages he has to fit into the position of Benzema, he is considered as one of the best young goal-scorers in the world.
He is also athletic, has strength, directness, runs into space, and has an eye for goal. He also relies on pace to beat opponents.
On his football career history, Osimhen after two campaigns in the Bundesliga, went on a loan to Charleroi.
After scoring 12 goals in the Belgian Pro League, Lille got interested in him and brought him to Ligue 1 in 2019, where he put up a superb performance which attracted the attention of Serie A club, Napoli.
His first two seasons in Italy were excellent, with the Nigerian scoring 10 and 14 goals in 2020-21 and 2021-22, respectively.
The height of his achievement so far, has been in the 2022-23, where he led the club to its third domestic title.
