Chelsea football club is set to appoint Frank Lampard as caretaker manager until the end of the season on Thursday.
Lampard who was once a manager at the club has agreed a deal to return to Stamford Bridge.
The former Chelsea star, is expected to take training on Thursday afternoon and be in charge for Chelsea’s next game at Wolves on Saturday.
Lampard was dismissed as head coach at Stamford Bridge in January 2021.
The dismissal was also replicated when he took over at Everton after less than a year in the role.
So far, it has not been ascertained if Lampard will be staying beyond the summer with the process for identifying and appointing a full-time head coach continuing.
Interestingly, 48 hours after Graham Potter was sacked, the club’s record goal scorer, with so much passion for his former club was at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night to watch Chelsea’s goalless draw against Liverpool.
