‘Egbaliganza 2026’ is shaping up to be a major cultural event in South-West Nigeria with its impact fast spreading globally.
The annual festival, which is part of the commemoration of the annual ‘Lisabi Day’, brings together Egba sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora to celebrate their culture and tradition.
With the official recognition from the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy, ‘Egbaliganza 2026’is poised to put Abeokuta on the global cultural map.
This year’s edition is theme, as ‘Africa’s first Culture and Fashion Exchange, bringing together over fifty countries, governments, cultural institutions, designers, and investors to showcase African heritage and fashion.
The event is expected to boost tourism, local enterprise, and diaspora investment, while elevating Africa’s creative economy.
The Key Highlights of ‘Egbalganza 2026’ include ‘Parade of Nations’, with a large-scale cultural convergence featuring delegations from over fifty countries, Fashion Show- which promotes Indigenous textiles like Adire and Aso-Oke, Cultural Exhibitions of Historic Egba garments and artifacts spanning centuries, Unity Drum Unveiling, an 80-man Orchestra and a Gala Night
