Ukraine has been accused by Russia of trying to assassinate President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday by using drones to target his residence in the Kremlin in central Moscow.
According to Mr Putin’s spokesman, the Russian leader had not been in the complex at the time of the attack.
Although, the presidential office revealed that the defences downed two drones overnight, BBC reports.
So far, there is an unverified footage on social media which appeared to show an object flying over the Kremlin before a small explosion.
However, Ukraine said it had nothing to do with the alleged drone strike as President Volodymyr Zelensky’s spokesman said the country was focusing on liberating its own territory after Russia invaded last year.
