Gov. Seyi Makinde Receives 2022 Silverbird Man Of The Year Award

The executive Governor of Oyo State, Oluseyi Makinde has received the 2022 Silverbird Man of the Year Award at the Eko Hotel and Suites, on Friday, March 3, 2023.

The outstanding and foremost Silverbird award, was received by the Oyo State deputy governor, on behalf of the governor who has also been tagged (The Marverick) who was not present at the event 2022 Silverbird Man of The Year has taken centrestage in Eko Hotel and suits on Friday 3, 2023.

The event started with dignitaries and very important personalities who arrived on the Red carpet and the recitation of the national anthem of Nigeria.

Hosts of the event, Silverbird News 24 Broadcasters, David Ubabudike and Seun Oyedeji were also at their best.

Others who were also honoured with several award are:

Former Head of State retired Gen. Abubakar Abdusalami, the pioneer Silverbird peace and goodwill Ambassador award.

World record breaker and holder of the women’s 100-metre hurdles event Tobi Amusan was honoured with the Silverbird Sports Personality of the Year Award.

Benedict Oranma the President and Chairman of the Africa Export-Import Bank was conferred with the 2022 extraordinary personality of the year award.

The distinguished Governor of the year award went to David Umahi while the rare Silverbird Compassionate Governance Award went to Douye Diri, the Executive Governor of Bayelsa state.

Mai Mala Buni the Executive Governor of Yobe State was honoured with the Silverbird special recognition award the Pioneer Silverbird Trailblazer Awards went to Osas Ighodaro and Deyemi Okanlawon.

Former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, former Military Governor of Lagos and Imo State, Ndubuisi Kanu, former Governor of Oyo State and former Minister of Justice, Chief Bola Ige and former military Governor of the erstwhile Mid-West all Samuel Ogbemudia all received the Post Humous awards.

Some of the dignitaries like Gen. Abubakar Abdusalami, Tobi Amusan, Gov. Seyi Makinde, Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri and Governor David Umahi, were not present to receive their awards.

Other attractions during the event were a beautiful display of songs by invited artistes, the speeches by Labour Party candidate in Lagos, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, Founder, Silverbird Group, Ben Murray-Bruce and one million naira give away to ten people each, courtesy, Premier Lotto Limited also known as Baba Ijebu, a sponsor of the event.
