The Kaduna State Police Command has announced movement restrictions in four Local Government Areas to ensure the peaceful conduct of Saturday’s bye-elections.

In a statement on Friday, Police Public Relations Officer DSP Mansir Hassan said the restrictions will begin at midnight on Saturday, August 16, 2025, covering Sabon Gari, Zaria, Chikun, and Kajuru LGAs.

According to Hassan, the measure aims to safeguard public safety, prevent disturbances, and guarantee an orderly electoral process in the affected areas.

He noted that movement during the restriction period will be limited to personnel on essential duties and those with official election assignments.

The Command urges residents to remain law-abiding and cooperate with security agencies to achieve a smooth and peaceful election,” he stated.

The bye-elections will be conducted in Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Zaria Kewaye State Constituency, and Basawa State Constituency.
