WIKE BARRED BY SOLDIERS OVER LAND ACCESS DISPUTE
Tensions escalated in Abuja’s Gaduwa district on Tuesday when soldiers blocked Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike and his entourage from accessing a parcel of land, sparking a heated confrontation.
“This is unprofessional. You cannot be threatening a minister like this,” an official accompanying Wike protested to the armed soldiers as the minister’s team attempted to enter the site.
Visibly frustrated, Wike challenged the military officers’ actions, insisting that no one is above the law. The former Rivers State governor questioned the land’s development, alleging that due process had not been followed.
“You have no document,” Wike declared during the standoff. The soldiers, however, remained unmoved, stating they were simply following orders.
“We cannot continue to act in impunity. We cannot continue this way. This country cannot go along this line,” Wike warned.
