God told me and my wife that we would have a son whose fame would be known throughout the world.

Mr. Aderopo Ogunwusi, father of the Ooni of Ife designate Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi said this in an interview with our correspondent.

He said, “We did not know that he will become the next Ooni of Ife because God has already blessed him but now that he has been chosen to lead the ancient city and Yoruba race, it means that the word of God has come to fulfilment.”

Aderopo who himself was a retired radio and television presenter said that on several occasions, men of God had revealed to him that they saw crown in my family. I never bothered myself with the prophecy because I know we are from royal family,” he noted.

Meanwhile the ancient town was thrown into jubilation on Monday when Adeyeye Ogunwusi was announced by Osun State Government as the new Ooni.

The indigenes said that there were indications that the new king had brought peace, blessings and joy to the land, which had witnessed various transformations since the days of the former Ooni Sijuwade Okunade.
The indigenes in groups rolled out drums, sang and danced to the family house of the new King in Agbedegbede Area of Ile-Ife.
