The ongoing World Economic Forum (WEF) in Africa has commenced on a peaceful note in Abuja.
According to a security update by Frank Mba, Force Public Relations Officer, the event had been without any security hitch or breach.
"So far, activities and proceedings at the huge economic event have been without any security hitch or breach whatsoever," Mba said.
He added that the Nigeria Police Force along with other security agencies continued to be on full alert so as to provide adequate protection for all delegates and participants throughout the period of the conference.
"Nigeria Police Force wishes to once more restate its commitment to ensuring a peaceful and successful event."
The WEF comes on the back of bombings that have killed about 100 people outside Abuja in recent weeks.
