WAFCON 2024:- Injured Banyana Star sends heartfelt message to Super Falcons
Banyana Banyana winger Gabriela Salgado has expressed deep gratitude to everyone who showed her love and support following the horrific injury she suffered at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), including Nigeria’s Super Falcons.
Salgado sustained a fractured leg during Banyana’s 2–1 semi-final loss to Nigeria last Tuesday in Casablanca.
The 26-year-old had to be stretchered off in the 87th minute and was rushed to the hospital, where she later underwent successful surgery.
The winger has since received overwhelming support from the football community, with the Super Falcons, Ghana’s Black Queens, and CAF officials among those who reached out and even visited her in the hospital.
