The record rainfall and flash flooding in New York city has prompted authorities to declare a state of emergency in the state.
The storm which has caused a lot of destruction in the state came as a result of Tropical Storm Ida.
In reaction to the development, Mayor Bill de Blasio has made some comments, tagging the situation a dangerous one and the flood, a brutal one.
In his words, the city was “enduring an historic weather event” with “brutal flooding” and “dangerous conditions” on the roads.
Meanwhile, New York city was not the only state affected. Another state, New Jersey as also affected and it has also declared an emergency, due to the ravaging situation.
