The President of Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. Supo Ayokunle has condemned the killings at St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Ozubulu in Anambra State.
He described the attack as unwarranted, wicked and admonished the security agencies to urgently investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Reverend Ayokunle in a statement by his spokesman, Pastor Bayo Oladeji, commiserated with the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano and the families of the victims of the attack.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) commiserates with the Catholic Church in Nigeria, the government and people of Anambra State over the attack on St. Phillips Catholic Church in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra state,
The APC condemns the barbarism displayed by the callous attackers who gunned down defenceless people while they worshiped.
The party calls on security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators of this heinous crime are promptly apprehended and brought to justice.
Also, the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki has condemned the attack on a church in Anambra state, saying that the perpetrators of the crime must be brought to book.
He expressed sadness over the incident via twitter.
He also urged security agencies to carry out their duties in ensuring that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
The Anambra State Police Command confirmed the death of eleven persons after the attack
