Lagos State Chief Judge, Justice Olufunmilayo Atilade has granted amnesty to eighty under-aged inmates of the Badagry prisons.

Justice Atilade said the amnesty granted them was in tandem with the resolution of the judiciary to protect the child rights and also decongest prisons nationwide.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Prisons Service has redeployed about 32 senior officers.

The prisons Public Relations Officer Francis Enobore in a signed statemen, said the redeployment was necessary following the promotion of five Deputy Comptrollers General of the service.

He added that the newly promoted officers would take charge as substantive Directorate Heads, while filling administrative gaps available.

Five deputy Comptrollers-General, three assistant Comptrollers-General and two Comptrollers of prisons, were all affected by the exercise.
