Anambra State Government has confirmed that a nursing student was killed by Lassa Fever, while 65 others were being monitored.
The Director of Public Health, State Ministry of Health, Emmanuel Okafor told newsmen in Awka that the deceased was a student in one private nursing school in Nkpor Area of the State.
Doctor Okafor said that the lady was admitted at a hospital in the state before being transferred to the General Hospital, Irua, in Edo State for diagnosis where she died.
While urging residents on hygiene, the medical officer said the authorities are making efforts in tracking other suspects in order to ensure they do not transfer it to friends and family.
