The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has confirmed the arrest of eight suspected kidnappers of six pupils of the Lagos State Model College, Igbonla, Epe. 
 
Speaking to newsmen while on tour of duty in Imo State, the IGP said that eight suspects in connection with the abduction had been rounded up by the police in a bid to rescue the pupils as quick as possible. 
 
Though the IGP did not disclose the names of the arrested suspects, he assured that the police were working hard to rescuing the captured pupils.
 
The students were abducted by gunmen on the twenty fifth of may from their school and are yet to be freed

Lagos state police command, has denied rumours of a bomb explosion in the state.
 
Public Relations Officer of the command, Olarinde Famous-Cole, said the reported explosion in the Oshodi part of the city was totally false.
 
He confirmed that the video attached to the story was the incident which occurred at Banex Plaza, Abuja in 2014.
 
Mister famous-cole urged the public to disregard the report and go about their businesses without fear.

Meanwhile Police authorities have paraded four suspected fraudsters and operators of illegal websites  targeted at unsuspecting candidates sitting for the West African Examination Council.
 
The four suspects  operating from different states of the federation according to the police, were arrested while trying to compromise the integrity of the 2017 WASSCE.
 
Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood,  said the suspects were 
arrested upon receipts of petition from the authority of the examination body.
