Bauchi State Government has declared that anyone arrested for kidnapping in the state will be sentenced to life imprisonment.
This is contained in the newly amended law, enacted by the State House of Assembly.

The government says the increase in cases of kidnapping led to the promulgation of stiffer penalty for offenders.
Statistics from the state government showed that from 2016 till date, over 100 suspected kidnappers have been arrested in Bauchi Atate alone.
