The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has put the total indebtedness of airlines to the Aviation Regulatory body at N15 billion as a result of non-remittance of ticket and cargo sales charges.
The spokesman for the regulatory body Sam Adurogboye stated that the carriers had already collected the five per cent from travellers and failed to remit them.
He described the act as criminal, stating that the agency would not go back on its earlier directive on automation of remittances.
