Thirty years after the death of first premier of old Western Region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo his legacies of industry, love for education and patriotism are still a reference point to many Nigerians.
 
Att the 2017 memorial lecture yesterday, speakers challenged the audience to imbibe these legacies in order to outline themselves like the late sage.

Chairman Board of Trustees, Obafemi Awolowo Foundation, Gen.Yakubu Gowon  urged youths to emulate the life of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo to be responsible, visionary and successful leaders.

Gowon made the call yesterday at memorial Lecture entitled: The Awolowo Legacy and its Message to Nigerian Youths’ in commemoration of Awolowo’s 108th  posthumous birthday in Lagos.

He said that Chief Awolowo was a statesman, who never did anything in half measures and fought for the unity of Nigeria.
