The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission says it is still investigating a former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke over the $1.2 billion Malabu Oil scam.
The anti-graft agency said it was investigating Adoke along with an unnamed former Minister of Finance.
According to the EFCC, Mr. Adoke and the minister conspired to “fraudulently” use “the Federal Government’s escrow account to receive $1.2 billion bribe paid by shell and Agip to Malabu Oil & Gas Limited.
Meanwhile, the presidency has flagged off the Presidential Fertilizer Initiative, with the production of more than 4, 000 metric tonnes of locally-blended fertilizer in the first week of operation.
The initiative was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari in December 2016, to achieve the local production of one million metric tonnes of blended Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potassium fertilizer for the 2017 wet season farming.
It will also make fertilizer available to Nigerian farmers at affordable prices and in time.
