The Independent National Electoral Commission has condemned the statements credited to the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, describing his utterances as inciting, provocative and dangerous.
INEC, in a statement, signed by the Chief Press Secretary to its Chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi urged stakeholders and actors in the Rivers political space to desist from making statements capable of derailing the process.
Governor wike had earlier accused the electoral commission of plotting to rig re-run elections scheduled in the state for Saturday in favour of the APC.
INEC assured that the commission would remain committed to conducting credible elections at all times.
The commission described Wike's statement as provocative anf could incite voters to cause violence.
