Grammy Award Gospel singers are warming up to reveal Jesus as Lagos prepares to witness another praise and worship night, the Experience 11.
Tagged, “Revealing Jesus”, the Tafawa Balewa Square, venue of the event is gradually wearing a new look to echo praises to the owner of heavens and the earth, God.
The resonance of the gorgeous musical instruments was clear as our correspondent moved closer to the venue Friday morning. The arrays of traders, right from the anterior section of the square to its posterior were visible; they came as early as 7am to take position for the all-night event.
Thousands of empty white seats sat quietly, waiting for guests and gospel music fans across Nigeria.
The programme starts in the dusk to end at dawn. However as at Friday morning, which of course would last till noon, commerce is going on at TBS.
Sales of Compact Disks, novels and movies by great gospel singers like Don Moen, Cece Winans, Donnie McClurkin permeated the arena.
McClurkin, the thrice Grammy Awardee, will not only give the gospel that made him on Friday night, he will also be a guest of the Rhythm FM 93. 7 on Saturday.
As the stage gets ready, such artistes like Tim Godfrey, Nigeria Segun Obe, Samsong, Onos Ariyo, Frank Edwars and Chorus Jesus are putting touches to the rehearsals that will eventually reveal Jesus.
“It is going to be another experience, can’t wait for the night to come,” a trader who simply identified herself as Dorcas has said. She told our correspondent that she had arrived so early to take position. Experience has become an annual event in Lagos and it has always come with heavy vehicular traffic on the Lagos Island.
