There has been a large turnout of voters as Ondo elects a new governor today to succeed Governor Olusegun Mimiko.

In Akure, Ondo, voters came out in large number to vote for candidates of their choice but apathy is observed in Akoko area of the state where Jimoh Ibrahim comes from.

There are three main contenders for the post and they are Rotimi Akeredolu of APC, Eyitayo Jegede of PDP and Oke of AD.

However, many voters across the state had been complaining about the card readers, which they said had been malfunctioning since accreditation began early this morning.

As a matter of fact, Jegede had made strong statement condemning the malfunctioning of the cards.

Akeredolu had cast his vote. Another development was that voters stood after casting their ballots waiting for the results to be announced in some polling units.
