Former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, has formally joined the All Progressives Congress, leaving the party he founded, the Progressive Peoples Alliance.
The former governor was received by the National Working Committee of the party at the National Secretariat, led by the National Chairman, John Oyegun.
Mr. Kalu said he had bowed to pressures from his friends and well wishers to contribute his quota to building the party in Nigeria especially in the South-east.

Meanwhile the Abia State House of Assembly has passed a resolution for the retirement of the Chief Magistrate, Uzoma Grace Ukeje by the first of December over age falsification.
The Deputy Speaker of the House, Cosmas Ndukwe said that Ministry of Justice conducted an inquiry and found out she had conflicting dates of births.
Mr. Ndukwe said that the House of Assembly had received several petitions over Mrs. Ukeje’s age.
The house also recommended that she refunds all monies received within the period she overstayed as chief magistrate.
