Shocked by the sudden replacement of his cadidate, Eyitayo Jegede with Jimoh Ibrahim as the Peoples Democratic Party canddate in the coming goverorship election in Ondo State, Governor  Olusegun Mimiko has met with President Muhammadu Buhari.

Details of his meeting with Buhari could not be unfolded at press time but findings revealed it was over the decision of the independent National Electoral Commission to recognise Jimoh Ibrahim as the governorship candidate of PDP.
He told state house correspondents that he was not only surprised but shocked about the development.
Governor mimiko said the people of Ondo State are renowned for standing up to perceived injustice.

Following the declaration of Jimoh Ibrahim as the candidate of the PDP in the Ondo governorship election, there have been huge protests in the state.
Reports say protesters blocked of major roads in akure, the state capital, owo, ondo and ore towns and then lit up bonfires.
But then security operatives brought the situation under control few hours later.
The protest began at about six thirty in the morning in akure and major roads like oyemekun, oba adesida, arakale, araromi among others were barricaded halting vehicular movement.
