The Acting Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has visited Isawo and Igbo Olomu towns in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
The two areas have recently come heavily under the attacks of militants who killed and kidnapped many residents for ransom.
Idris, who arrived at the towns around 10;30 a.m. asked members of the communities to be vigilant and  report suspicious activities to the police.
Reports say some of the escaped militants are hiding ni the community.

In another development, the Ogun State Police Command  has confirmed the death of two persons after two rival cult groups clashed in  Ogijo,a border town between Lagos and Ogun states.
The Acting Police Public Relations Officer , Abimbola Oyeyemi said some  suspects have been arrested.
He also said that the situation had been brought under control and asked residents to go about their normal day to day activities without fear.
