As the budget scandal continues to generate heated debate across the country, the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila for the first time appealed to members in the house not to pass judgement until parties involved are tried.
Femi gbajabiamila made the appeal in a statement released yesterday.
In his statement, he admitted that the country's budget process needs radical reform as soon as possible.
The majority leader said his commitment has always been to strengthen the legislature and its processes and democracy as a whole.
Gbajabiamila contested with Dogara in 2015 and won the speakership position. This followed serious politicking that eventually saw Gbajabiamila emerged as the Majority Leader.
Since then, it has been a peaceful house until the recent revelation and allegation of budget padding. Gbajabiamla is the only principal officer that is not named in the alleged budget padding.
