The Federal Government’s proposed peace talks with Niger Delta militants suffered a major setback yesterday as the avengers blew up several oil facilities belonging to Chevron and Nigerian Petroleum Development Corporation.
Two major oil wells, at Abiteye flow station in Warri Southwest Council Area of Delta State were affected.
Also damaged were two major crude oil trunklines close to Batan flow station. The federal government was planning a peace talk with the Niger Delta Avengers before the militant group wreaked havoc on the oil facilities on Sunday.
As it stands, there are no indications that the peace meeting will hold anymore as the government is bent in fishing out the perpetrators of the criminal act.
