There was mild drama in Ado-Ekiti, as the State House of Assembly held a plenary on the highway protesting the freezing of the account of Governor Ayodele Fayose by the Economic and Financial Crimes CCommission (EFCC).

The lawmakers, who sat under a canopy displayed placards with different inscriptions such as: “we are ready for arrest”, ”harassing Ekiti lawmakers/government won’t give you 2018,” “no matter your media trial and blackmail, on Fayose we stand” and leave Fayose alone” among others.

They accuse the Federal Government of deliberately manipulating anti-graft and security agencies to intimidate and harass Governor Fayose.

Fayose's account was frozen by EFCC for his alleged involvement in N4.9 billion scandal.

The governor had since approached a Federal High Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti, demanding why his acccount could not be defreeze.

The court had thus ordered EFCC and Zenith Bank Plc to show up on July 4 with the evidence that legalised the freezing of the governors account.
