The Nigerian Army has arrested 10 suspected members of the militants, Niger Delta Avengers
They were arrested in the early hours of Saturday, in Oporaza Community, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, during a cordon and search operation .
The Commander of the 4 Brigade, Brigadier-General Farouk Yahaya, paraded the suspects yesterday in Benin, the Edo State Capital.
Several dangerous weapons, includig guns, knives and grinades were recovered from the arrested suspects,
However, the Ijaw Youth Council ,IYC is asking Nigerians and the international community to urgently prevail on President Muhammadu Buhari to order the military out of Oporoza community to allow the residents have access to medical care and foods so as to avoid a humanitarian crisis.
IYC in a statement by its spokesman Eric Omare said Oporoza , the headquarters of Gbaramatu clan in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State is still under military siege two days after the military arrived in the community. And no person has been allowed to move in and out of Oporoza community.
