The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Darius Ishaku of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP as the truly elected governor of Taraba State.

In a unanimous verdict, a seven-man panel of Justices dismissed the appeal filed by the Al Progressives Congress candidate Aisha Al-Hassan at the Appeal Court, sitting in Abuja in the April 11, 2015, governorship election.

Delivering the judgment, Justice Bode Rhodes-Vivour, affirmed the earlier judgment of the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal ‎which declared Gov Ishaku as the valid winner of the gubernatorial contest.

He said, “I am of the firm view that there is no merit in this appeal and it is hereby dismissed. The Judgment of the ‎Court of Appeal is affirmed and the election of Governor Darius Ishaku is hereby upheld.”
The court fixed February 22 to give reasons for its judgment.
