Mr. James Faleke, the running mate to late Abubakar Audu in the November 23 Kogi State Governorship election under the All Progressives Party, APC has rejected his nomination as the running mate to the new gubernatorial candidate Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
He made this known through a letter he sent to the party chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun dissociating himself from the supplementary poll as he insisted that the November 21 governorship election had produced him as clear winner in the absence of Audu.
He said “Please take this letter as confirmation to dissociate myself from the unusual and strange supplementary nomination of my humble self as running mate to Alhaji Yahaya Bello, this also serves as a notice of rejection of the purported and illegal nomination of myself as running mate to Alhaji Yahaya Bello.”
APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun had earlier announced Bello as the party governorship candidate and consequently sent the name to INEC for a supplementary election slated for December 5, 3015.
However, Faleke has refused to pair with Bello on the ground that he is supposed to be the governor-elect having ran with the late Audu on joint APC ticket.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the election inconclusive, following the inability of some registered voters to vote in 91 units.
