The race for the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria Pageant began properly yesterday with much passion from the girls who started off with a workout session. Soon after, the girls had a total makeover in preparation for their photo session.

It was all clicks and poses for the girls who modelled themselves for the aperture to capture their magnificent images.

According to the official photographer, the concept for this year's MBGN is his most challenging yet.

Later in the day, it was time for a welcome/cocktail party organized by the Cross River state government. The beautiful girls were entertained by the Calabar Carnival revelers.

Representing the Governor of Cross River State, his Excellency Professor Ben Ayade was his Deputy Governor, Professor Ivara Ejemot Esu, OFR.

In his speech, Ayade said he was delighted that Calabar was hosting the prestigious Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria Pageant.

Also in attendance were some members of the State House of Assembly and house of assembly members and state EXCO members.
