Nigeria international and captain of the Super Eagles, Vincent Enyeama buried his late mother Lucy on Saturday in his hometown of Urua Inyang, Akwa Ibom State.
Mrs Enyeama died in September as the Super Eagles prepared to take on Tanzania in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, which made Vincent unable to show up in camp.
The Nigeria Football Federation was represented by a strong delegation led by its president Mr Amaju Pinnick, who extolled the values that the goalkeeper’s mother cherished in her lifetime. Enyeama is the longest serving Super Eagles’ player and has won African Cup of Nations.
Presently he plays for French club Lille. He is a three –time FIFA World Cup star and winner of the Africa Cup of Nations, as well as several other accomplishments. “The Nigeria football fraternity appreciates how much our Captain must be grieving at this period. His mother, Mrs Lucy Philip Enyeama was a very caring and compassionate parent, who gave her children much love and support during her lifetime.”
