No fewer than five hundred migrants from nine west African countries, including Nigeria, who were deported from the country, berthed at the national inland waterways authority jetty in Calabar, Cross River state yesterday, after four days on the high sea.
    
They were deported for lack of valid documentation.one person, whose identity was not disclosed, allegedly died shortly before the migrants departed Gabon.

A breakdown of the deportees shows that thirty-six of them are from Nigeria.
