Lagos – Two time African Champions, Enyimba have signed Burkina Faso international, Ahmed Kone, the club has announced.
The Aba giant announced on Wednesday that the midfielder, Ahmed Kone who before now plays for AS Sonabel of Burkina Faso had a trial session at Enyimba and it's obvious the Nigerian club have had their minds made up on keeping Kone.
The people's Elephant Twitter handle tweeted on details about the signing of the Burkina Faso international.
"In preparation for the second stanza of the league season, there has been a rush of transfer activity within the club. Kone is predominantly a right winger, and will put pen to paper for #Enyimba, subject to a medical."
Few minutes after the club announced that the Ahmed Kone has passed medicals.
"New signing Ahmed Kone, from AS Sonabel, has passed his medical with the club. The 22-year-old Burkinabe right midfielder was a part of Sonabel's CAF Confederation Cup campaign in 2014."
Enyimba, who last won the Nigerian league in 2010, have struggled to make impact on the continent since their 2012 semi-final appearance in the CAF Champions League, but the People's Elephant have raised the bar this season finishing the first stanza of the 2015 season on second place, tied on point with first place Sunshine Stars of Akure.
