The US President Barrack Obama is going to break his administration's tradition when President Muhammadu Buhari arrives on July 20, 2015
He will be the first African president that the U.S President, Barack Obama will host at his personal guest house at the Blair House, right opposite the White House.
This is in clear departure from the American government's attitude to visiting Heads of State, particularly African leaders.
Obama's decision to host Buhari in his personal guest house is a demonstration of the respect and admiration the U.S President has for Buhari and to support Buhari's acclaimed frugal lifestyle and disdain for ostentatious lifestyle.
Obama has also decided to accommodate Buhari and his team for three days instead of the two days already arranged by the Nigerian protocol unit.
The decision to host President Buhari in the official Guest House of the U.S President will not only cut down the cost of the trip but also allow time for informal discussions by both leaders.
