Meka Akerojola ace presenter of the "Morning Drive" on Silverbird's Rhythm FM 94.7 Abuja has been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. He requires funds to undergo a kidney transplant in India. In the past week, colleagues, family and friends of the radio presenter, have taken to social media to ask Nigerians to contribute to his treatment which is estimated to cost between N8-10 million.
Unfortunately as donations are trickling in,they are still paying for dialysis that he goes for twice a week at the cost of N25,000 per dialysis at Consultant Medical Clinic & Dialysis Center, Wuse Zone 6, Abuja.
Meka noted that as a result of his health issues, he tries to relax more and not engage in strenuous activities.
The money donated is to help take care for him and his donor who is his younger sister. This care includes logistics and medical care for the both of them
“Because of my health status,” he had said, “my lifestyle has changed. I am not huge on clubbing.”
Sadly, his condition has gotten worse, as his two kidneys are said to be malfunctioning.
His employers at Silverbird Communications have given him a cheque of 3.5 million naira but seek for assistance by the good people of Nigeria as this will definitely help to make them as comfortable as possible as they undergo the process of the transplant and also the recovery.
