The Elders Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has described efforts by Goodluck Jonathan to gain votes through bribes as "too late", PUNCH reports.
In a statement signed by Sola Akinwumi, Council Chairman, the council maintained that the support of the Yoruba people cannot be bought with money.
Lamenting visits made by Jonathan to the palaces of traditional leaders, the elders said that the allegations of bribery are not surprising as they are the antics of an unprepared student that usually resorts to panicky measures when an examination is approaching.
The elders also lamented the neglect which they say has been experienced by their people at the hands of the Federal Government.
