The Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-Moon has expressed the hope that Nigerian politicians will continue to exercise restraint ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
His special representative, Muhammed Ibn Chambas disclosed this to State House correspondents shortly after a closed-door meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa.
His visit was a follow-up to the separate telephone conversations the UN boss had with President Jonathan and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Muhammadu Buhari, last week.
He said the UN was pleased that the recent shift in the elections dates had since been accepted by all political parties and stakeholders.
