Defending champions, France have been held by Croatia after both teams played 1-1 in the Nations League on Monday.
From two Nations League games, France have one point after losing 2-1 to Denmark on Friday. Denmark at the moment are on top of the group with six points after winning 2-1 in Austria.
France started very well in the game against Denmark as Adrien Rabiot’s cool finish from Wissam Ben Yedder’s ball gave them the lead. They went ahead searching for victory but did not get it at the end of the match.
Croatia came back strong to score with a superb penalty finish from Andrej Kramaric after that the video assistant referee awarded him a spot-kick following a foul by Jonathan Clauss.
The chances of France reaching next year’s Nations League finals are becoming very slim after they throw away two leads in five days.
Interestingly, goalkeeper Mike Maignan displayed class, stopping West Ham’s Nikola Vlasic who was making his competitive debut, from giving Croatia a win.
