British athletes, Tom Daley and Matty Lee have both started on a remarkable note in the Tokyo Olympics after winning gold medals in diving’s 10-metre synchronised platform event.

Talented athlete, Tom Daley did not only grab gold medal, but ended his long wait for an Olympic gold medal with an interesting display alongside Matty Lee.

It was so clear that they were out to make a difference as their performance narrowly edged out Cao Yuan and Chen Aisen and ending China’s hope of sweeping all eight diving medals in Tokyo.

Daley, 27, is in his fourth Olympic Games, with a first gold medal

On their performance so far, after four dives, both Daley and Lee dived flawlessly throughout, moving top of the leaderboard, before going on to expertly handle nerves and pressure in their final two routines.

It was a moment of joy for Daley, Lee, their coaches and a score of team-mates after the British pair’s total score of 471.81edged out China’s Cao and Chen with too much to do, especially when their tally of 470.58 appeared on the giant screen.
