Tinubu Mourns Victims of Lagos Fire, Commends Emergency Responders

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the families of those who died in a fire that broke out at the Afriland Building on Broad Street, Lagos Island. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, also affected the offices of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the United Bank of Africa (UBA) located in the building.

The president extended his sympathies to the management and staff of Afriland Properties Limited, FIRS, and UBA. He also offered prayers for the repose of the souls of the deceased and a speedy recovery for the injured currently receiving medical treatment.

President Tinubu commended the prompt response of emergency services, including the Federal Fire Service, medical personnel, and members of the public. He praised their swift action and sense of duty in evacuating people from the burning building.

He urged for increased caution, training, and public awareness to prevent similar tragedies in the future. The president’s message was conveyed through a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
