Tinubu Hails Soludo’s Re-election, Calls Victory an Affirmation of Visionary Leadership
Abuja—President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Professor Chukwuma Soludo on his overwhelming re-election victory as Governor of Anambra State, making him the third governor in the state’s history to secure a second term. The President described Soludo’s win as a testament to his visionary leadership, highlighting the significant progress and transparent governance achieved under his administration.
President Tinubu praised Governor Soludo for applying academic principles to public service, emphasizing accountability and the prudent management of resources, which he noted had made Anambra live up to its motto as the “Light of the Nation.” He recounted his visit to the state in May, where he inaugurated projects and witnessed firsthand the “good thinking” behind the administration’s landmark initiatives.
The President called on Governor Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and seek the cooperation of his opponents, assuring the governor of his unwavering support and continued collaboration between Anambra State and the Federal Government. Tinubu further noted that the victory of the opposition All Grand Progressives Alliance (AGPA) demonstrated the vitality of Nigeria’s political system.
Finally, President Tinubu commended the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for conducting a “credible election,” based on initial observer reports. He charged the commission to maintain these standards and continue improving its performance to strengthen and deepen the nation’s electoral system.
