The Presidency has refuted claims circulating on various social media platforms alleging that President Bola Tinubu dismissed Professor Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Policy, addressed the rumors in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, @BwalaDaniel, stating, “The story trending across media platforms, suggesting that Mr. President @officialABAT has either dismissed or replaced the INEC Chairman, is false and should be disregarded.
Presidential decisions and official actions are communicated through formal channels, not through rumor mills.
