Suitcase Cocaine Bust: Brothers Nabbed, UK Techie Caught with “Loud” – NDLEA
Two brothers attempting to smuggle 5kg of cocaine hidden in suitcase walls were arrested at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) while en route to India, according to a statement released by Femi Babafemi, Director of Media & Publicity, NDLEA.
The brothers, John Abugu (43) and Kenneth Abugu (31), were apprehended on April 3rd, 2025, following intelligence gathering.
The NDLEA also intercepted a 20-year-old British-Ghanaian techie, Parker Darren Hazekia Osei, arriving from Bangkok, with 19.40kg of “Loud” cannabis concealed in his luggage.
Further operations across Nigeria resulted in several other arrests:
* A 75-year-old man was arrested in Abia State with skunk.
* A woman was apprehended in Kogi State transporting methamphetamine from Lagos to Abuja.
* Large quantities of tramadol and codeine were seized in Anambra and Yobe States.
* Cannabis plantations spanning over 100 hectares, containing 250,000kg of cannabis, were destroyed in Cross River State.
* A man was arrested in the FCT with Skunk and Methamphetamine.
The NDLEA continues its “War Against Drug Abuse” (WADA) campaign nationwide, conducting sensitization programs in schools, communities, and workplaces.
